while my first instinct would be to agree with your answer, two things come to mind. as a teenager i had a friend who was on birth control, who was very embarrassed by it. her dr. had put her on it due to menstrual problems. i also had friends who went and got it themselves, without their parent's knowledge. personally if my 14 yr old asked for it, i think i would prefer to take her to our family dr, and let him talk to her about it, and if she were to have a prescription for it i would prefer her to be in a situation where she could be monitored by a dr. who knows her medical history and if she is on any other medications.
